Joe Henderson

Joe is founder of Estate Map, an experienced estate planning and small business attorney, former corporate attorney, Assistant Attorney General, U.S. Congressional Aide, and lobbyist. He has been honored among his peers as a Super Lawyer—among the top 5% of attorneys in Minnesota; rated “AV-preeminent” with Martindale-Hubbell—the highest achievable level of professional and ethical rating; and rated “superb” with AVVO—the highest achievable category.

Joe holds a B.A. in Business, Marketing and Political Science from the University of St. Thomas, a Minnesota liberal arts college. After undergrad, Henderson worked in Washington, DC as a Congressional Legislative Assistant and as an international trade lobbyist before returning home to attend the University of Minnesota Law School, consistently ranked among the top 20 law schools in the nation. Henderson then served as Assistant Attorney General under Hubert H. Humphrey, III; an associate attorney with a Minneapolis corporate law firm; and as in-house counsel with a global financial services company before launching his first entrepreneurial endeavor with an independent law practice. In this context, Joe came to recognize an increasing need for people to have a tool to better organize, store and share information with loved ones and founded Estate Map in 2011.

He is an active St. Thomas Alumni and is honored to serve on the board of the non-profit Project for Pride in Living. Joe is the proud father of hilarious and handsome identical twin boys Emmett and Edwin, who, in addition to their mom, are his greatest joy.
