Kate is a nationally recognized technology lawyer and a partner at Nilan Johnson Lewis, PA. She provides counsel on technology licensing, privacy, intellectual property, e-commerce and other internet related issues. Kate was a systems engineer, designing and coding software applications, prior to law school. Her technology background allows her to understand her clients’ technology at a level of detail that provides depth in her assessment of both the business and legal considerations for the technology agreements. She is a frequent speaker both nationally and internationally on technology law and privacy regulations and the author of “The Law and Business of Computer Software” published by Thomson/West. Kate is a former linguist and worked in military intelligence for seven years both in the military and as a civilian.
